We are pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Sweet as our new Chief Executive Officer. Ian brings a distinguished track record in combating modern slavery and human trafficking, combined with senior leadership experience in both law enforcement and the financial services sector.

Ian succeeds the outgoing CEO at a time of growth and renewed strategic focus for Arise, a charity dedicated to protecting communities at risk from exploitation and trafficking worldwide. With his blend of frontline and boardroom experience, Ian is well positioned to lead Arise into its next chapter.

In a statement, Ian said:"I am honoured and excited to be appointed CEO of Arise. I look forward to building on the exceptional work already done by the team and expanding our reach to protect even more individuals and communities vulnerable to modern slavery and human trafficking. This is a cause I care deeply about, and I am committed to advancing Arise’s mission with urgency and purpose."

Kevin Hyland OBE, Chair of Trustees and former UK Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner, welcomed the appointment:

"The board welcomes Ian and are delighted to have him leading Arise. He brings a wealth of experience and expertise as a recognised expert in modern slavery, decades of policing as a senior officer and a successful career at board level in the financial services sector."

Under Ian’s leadership, Arise will continue to strengthen grassroots partnerships, and champion the dignity and freedom of all people.
